What to Think About When You’re Thinking About Walking Your Cat

So, you want to start putting your cat on a leash. Congratulations for taking the cat love thing to a whole new level! Before you start dragging your feline friend all around town, though, you have to ask yourself these questions:

1. Does your cat want to be on a leash?

Cats won't do anything they don't want to do. You should know this already, cat person.

2. Where are you taking your cat?

On a walk around the block? To the grocery store? A cat fashion show? Make sure the occasion actually calls for a cat on a leash.

3. Are you single?

If you like being single, great! Walk that cat to the movies for date night! And continue to enjoy your single lifestyle.

4. Is your cat too big?

If you have a very large cat, think twice before you walk it in the park. Will a leash even restrain it, if it tries to hunt for a gazelle? Come to think of it...you should probably consider bringing trained handlers with you whenever you two step out.

5. Do you care about the opinions of others?

When you walk your cat, you're opening yourself up to all kinds of criticisms. Don't let the haters bring you down. Be strong. Be a rock. Be an island.

6. How many cats do you have?

Are you going to walk them one at a time? Or all together? Do you even have the coordination to control multiple cats? What if you get all tangled up in their leashes and there's some sort of CATastrophe?
